I mean, think about it. Back in the day, folks got to play bricks instead of jelly. Games used to be HARD. Like, "my controller's got bite marks all over it and still I beat the game"-hard.
Nowadays we get "very easy" mode, so even the suckiest player beats the game with no effort. Megaman 10 comes with the option to cover all spikes and holes and vanish most of the enemies. New Super Mario Bros Wii plays itself if you let it.
By 2050 every shooter has god-mode enabled by default and platformers aren't even given the option to be played by the player. And old people are gonna beat the virtual crap out of young folks who try to pick up vintage games like Soul Calibur 6... or stuff.
